Capt Jepp should have a air safety day named after him
Most important read to understand the correct Capt Jepp story. This book helps to correct the errors/omission’s in the Capt Jepp book.Richard Jeppesen was in the roomHe was able to shine a bright light on the real story and was able confirm that past president Rosenkranswas not a loyal friend to Capt. JeppAnd Rosenkrans would not give Capt Jepp the respect he so rightly deserves. Becouse Rosenkrans was all about Rosenkrans and keeping his job. “what goes around comes around”. Capt Jeppesen should have a air safety day named to honor his monumental contribution to aviation.Richard Jeppesen thanks for setting the story right.

Jeppeson
As a pilot and aviation buff, and one who uses a Jeppesen Airway Manual every day at work I was looking forward to this book- it has a nice cover, but whoa.....after that it is pretty dodgy. I guess it is self edited and self published. The grammer and spelling are on about a 7th. grade level. I can overlook this on the parts that are interesting- some tales of the old airmail flying days and a really interesting discussion of the developement of the chart printing business post-war. Unfortunately this is only about 10% of the book (it is so thick because it is printed in a very large font) There is chapter after chapter about alleged government conspiracy and family grudges that no one really wants to read about. If you really are interested in Jeppeson charts maybe buy it and read what you want about that, but about 80% of the book is really worse than bad.

Great book for history and aviation fans
Having grown up in a world where air travel in normal, I was fascinated by the struggles of early pilots. They were true pioneers and risked their life’s everyday. Anyone who’s interested in American history or aviation history should give this book a read.

Great book on aviation history.
I read this book a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Having worked in the aviation business for many years it was interesting to see the changes in that have taken place to keep us safe in the sky. Interesting to read a biography written by someone with an inside view.

Fascinating look at aviation history.
This book is a fascinating look at aviation history. It gives us a clear picture of the true cost of the developement of aviation. A high cost indeed!Thankfully, the brilliance of Elrey B. Jeppesen helped to transform that dangerous business into the flying experiences that we know today. -- Most of us get into an airplane and feel relatively safe to fly anywhere. (Sadly, that safety is not 100% and the revelation by the author of studies on "cost-ratio-benefits" on safety measures, is startling to say the least!)For me, this was a very enjoyable read. Well written and well illustrated, with many photos taken by Elrey Jeppesen himself. Thanks to his son Richard for sharing this history with us!
