Haier HF50CM23NW 5.0 cu. ft. Capacity Chest Freezer, White

We picked up the Haier 5.0 c.u. ft chest freezer about a month ago, and it has been pretty awesome to use. It gets nice and cold just as you’d expect. The 5.0 cu is more than enough for our family of three when combined with our normal refrigerator. We were able to store half a pig, a large turkey, a couple whole chickens, and we have plenty of room left. We actually have several gallon jugs of water in there too and we could still fit another half pig or more in it.It is fairly light weight. I was able to get it up our porch stairs by myself with a dolly. It is also small enough that it can fit in some pretty tight spaces. We have it in a small mechanical room attached to the garage and we had plenty of room for it. It gets a good seal, and it runs quiet. We added some gallon jugs of water (90% full) to it in order to help keep it from working too hard. I’ve always heard full freezers work best. I did have to use an extension cord, so I used a 12 guage cord and so far haven’t noticed any issues with the cord getting hot.The only problem I’ve had is that there were some dents in the side from shipping. They weren’t an issue for me so I accepted it and went on. I plan to add a wireless thermometer with an alert though since it isn't in a common area where we'd notice failure quickly. Just in case.

I received this freezer with a dent down by the temp. adj.. Not happy about it but, FED-EX delivered it and left it on my porch, on it's side. None of the freezers have heavy gauge metal, so this was expected. I, believe this is an issue caused by the deliverer FED-EX. After I received the freezer, I let it sit for about 24 hrs. to let the compressor oil settle back to the sump. I then plugged it in and put in a half filled gallon water jug. The unit came preset at the 4 setting. It took about 1 hr. for the jug to be almost frozen. I then loaded about 10 frozen items in it and 3 unfrozen. I am going to buy a temp. gauge for it tomorrow, but all of the items are still frozen solid and the unit is working great. I, do recommend this freezer it's very quiet. freezers rapidly.

So far, so good. Came dented on lower right front corner, similar to experiences that other reviewers have had. Dent was not bad enough for me to send it back. Turned it on and tested the temperature the next day, and it is holding temp at about 0 deg Fahrenheit. The owner's manual states that it is not supposed to be operated in an ambient temperature of less than 55 deg. I plan to use this in an unheated garage that stays about 40 deg for much of the winter. I guess we will see if it has a problem functioning at the lower temperature. Will update the review if it starts to have problems.

So far so good. Just the right size for a family of three and fits well in our tiny expensive DC area apartment. It was bought because the freezer on our current fridge is way to small to hold more than two packs of chicken and possible a hot pocket. Only downside is that it came with some dents and a wobbly vent with chipped paint. Don't do much to return it (I tossed the box already and worried that they might send me a really banged up one like the others) or complain considering it's on the back of the deep freezer and not noticeable. All it's a great buy for me.

This chest cools quickly and seems to maintain a consistent temperature. It could use another rack for organization, but otherwise a seemingly well built freezer for the garage or basement. I would give 5 stars but for the fact that the freezer came damaged on the corners and bottom; I had to put a shim under a corner to level it out so it didn't rattle. Having visited a few brick-and-mortar stores, I noticed this is not uncommon; apparently it is difficult to handle these with care.

So, far excellent. I bought this for my mother's Birthday. The freezer has been plugged up and runs well as observed by my family. Delivery was earlier than expected and the assistance with placement was a welcomed and appreciated bonus. The only, issue with our order and delivery is that on the side of the freezer the is a long indentation with not explanation. It, appears that even though there is damage the freezer works as hoped and my family loves it.

Works perfectly. Cold. Directions said to put setting on 4. After 2 days I put it on 6. Put 2 large pizzas,a roast, 2 gallon ziploc bags of ribs, 2 gal ziplocs of chicken, 3 gals ice cream, plus ice cream bars, 2 gal vegetables, 3 frozen dinners. And plenty more room on bottom. Ordered late friday night. Received Tuesday afternoon. No dents. No scratches. Very fast delivery. Lots of room.Great product. Very pleased!!

Took 2 shipments to get an undamaged unit but the company was amazing to work with. I put 100% of the blame on Fed X. I watched the neanderthal driver just pick it up, run it to the door and drop it. Maybe he forgot his hand truck (dollies for all you millineals out there) in his other truck. Freezer works great.runs very quite and maintains 0 degrees at half power. Remember, new freezers do not work in temperatures below 50. Another government regulation for sure. Save the ozone layer. I digress. Good compact freezer that I highly recommend.

This is a Christmas gift that our daughter and son in law won't open until Christmas Day we are confident however they will love it
