Is the holding unit plugged in to a socket and attached to the wall next to it, or does it have to be hard wired into the mains?

Can it cope long-term with very fine dust from rayburn etc, which clog filters fast. Also dried muddy doormats. House on muddy farm - fed up with dirt

Does it easily suck up patches of long & rather thick dog hairs or would I still have to scrape/scoop them up by hand? Do long hairs clog the machine?

Can you just plug it into a socket to charge it up or must you fix up the docking station, which I don't really want to do.
